This role will conduct Property Risk Assessment surveys and service at complex applicant and written business to determine overall risk. In addition, a unique opportunity exists to train and mentor field staff, as well as serve as a technical property resource for Risk Engineering and Underwriting. The position will report into the Managing Director - Property, Risk Engineering Organization. It will have accountability specific to the deployment of Underwriting and Risk Engineering practices for the Property Line of Business, with support to the Marine and International MultiNational Lines of Businesses where applicable. This position will be remote with required onsite travel to client locations and jobsites. Responsibilities: u2022 Support the strategic direction of the Property lines of business by working closely with the Managing Director - Property well as underwriting in the development and support of the initiatives. u2022 Develop and deliver Risk Engineering products and services inclusive of training, collateral materials, technical assistance and support to both our internal and external partners is a key aspect of this position. u2022 Provide the needed technical guidance to understand and anticipate changes in industry, regulation, appetite and strategic business needs. u2022 Act in a business consultative role to our internal and external business partners. u2022 Strengthen the level of expertise within Risk Engineering in the Property discipline. Oversee and provide the technical assistance and support to the Field as well as all internal and external partners. u2022 Regularly communicate and collaborate with Marine; Property and Global Specialty business partners to create a strong and credible relationship and to support their Property technical needs. u2022 Assist in the development and delivery of key training initiatives for all of the products and services that the Property business partners require. u2022 Plan, organize and manage resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives as directed by the Sr Managing Director - Property Qualifications: u2022 BA/BS degree in a science or engineering. Experience in insurance or related field is preferred with a minimum of 10 years related experience. u2022 Certification/designation(s) (i.e.) CFPS, CSP, PE, ARM, etc. (at least one is preferred, but is not required) u2022 Superior analytical and problem solving skills. u2022 Ability to work in a fast changing, dynamic environment. The ability to work on multiple tasks and assignments. u2022 Results orientated and high level of accountability. u2022 Extensive knowledge of NFPA Standards, FM Global Data Sheets and other industry standards preferred. u2022 Ability to work confidently with all levels of management across organizations including senior executives in Home Office as well as the Field. Compensation The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartfordu2019s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
