The role collaborates closely with pharmacy leadership, nurses, and a team of 24 technicians within a family-oriented, fast-paced environment. Technicians may be scheduled across three areas: Triage Shift, managing nursing requests, inventory, and task completion; Carousel Shift, supporting IV room operations, batching, and pyxis deliveries; and Night Shift, working independently with minimal staffing. This position offers valuable experience in inpatient pharmacy operations, teamwork, and patient-centered medication support.A caregiver in this position will work a day/evening rotation from 6:00am to 2:00pm or 3:00pm to 11:30pm with occasional midnights for coverage. Further scheduling requirements include every other weekend and every other holiday. A caregiver who excels in this role will:Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterilecompoundingand sterile compounding.Deliver medications to theappropriate storagelocations inan accurateandtimelymanner.Maintainaccurateandappropriate inventoriesof medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.Maintain a safe and clean work area bycomplying withprocedures,rulesand regulations.Document regulatory requirements, includingtemperature logs, scheduledactivitiesand training.Use information systems,technologyand automation to complete assigned tasks.Assistwith the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:High School Diploma/GEDSix months of related experience OR completion of a Pharmacy Technician ProgramUpon hire, you must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA)Understanding of algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compoundsMust meet all of the following license and certification combination requirements at the time of application:Must hold an active registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP). Please note:A status as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee with OBOP does not qualify for this role. However, please visit the apprenticeship program to express interest: is required, within 18 months from the date of hire: Must obtain a national certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) AND Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of PharmacyPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Six months of hospital experiencePhysical Requirements:Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, walking, reaching, stretching and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing, and compounding.Personal Protective Equipment:• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay RangeMinimum hourly: $19.25Maximum hourly: $28.00The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
