JOB REQUIREMENTS: Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin.BETTER TOGETHER The Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) workscollaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of addiction medicinephysicians and advanced practice providers, registered nurses and otherstaff to coordinate, support and deliver evidence-based, high-qualitysubstance use disorder treatment. The CSAC is responsible for deliveryof evidence-based diagnostic assessment and treatment to adults withsubstance use disorders. The incumbent will receive day to day guidance,administrative supervision, and clinical consultation from the AssociateMedical Director-Substance Use Disorder, with additional accountabilityto the Behavioral Health Services Manager. This position will provideboth initial intake assessments and follow up psychotherapy care as amember of the substance use disorders program. The CSAC will collaboratewith their patients to develop and address individualized treatmentplans that include accurate diagnosis and specified treatment goals.Treatment benefits and progress toward goals will be monitored andreviewed regularly, utilizing measurement tools, and adjusting treatmentfocus as appropriate. This position may also coordinate care withprimary care, other specialty providers, and the other systems in whichtheir patients interact (e.g., families) as needed. The CSAC may providecrisis support to GHC-SCW members, including triage and riskassessments, completing safety planning, and determining acuity andappropriate level of care for members seeking substance use disordertreatment services. The CSAC will complete documentation in theelectronic medical record in a timely manner per department andorganization protocols, and chart in a manner that is patient-orientedand professional. The CSAC will work collaboratively with addictionmedicine physicians and advanced practice providers and be an activeparticipant in substance use disorder department meetings.
