This position is for someone interested in taking charge and leading our journalism and storytelling from our prime-time shows to our morning burstu2014because you know the news never stops. This position will be a 5-day workweek with overnight hours. It will be based in our Chicago newsroom. Position Description u00b7 Ensure our NewsNation journalism maintains high standards and differentiates our brand from our competitors u00b7 Create and oversee the creation of news content, including assigning and reviewing stories, video and social content. u00b7 Showcase and prepare our original content for an excellent morning news experience u00b7 Craft compelling headlines, teases and social media posts that encourage followers to engage with our journalism u00b7 Package content that encourages audience engagement to stay on the page longer or view more pages per visit u00b7 Manage breaking news, including content that can be shared across the entire Nexstar network u00b7 Edit wire and local network-affiliated content for a national audience to ensure standards for journalistic integrity and production quality are met u00b7 Showcase broadcast segments for publishing across all digital platforms and social media channels u00b7 Utilize SEO best practices Qualifications u00b7 4+ years working as a digital reporter, producer, manager or editor in a major market or national newsroom. u00b7 Strong news judgement and ability to determine when local stories have national appeal u00b7 Experience working with video and social media u00b7 Excellent communicator, both oral and written u00b7 Bacheloru2019s degree in journalism, advertising or marketing or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 Annually Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
