OverviewThe Assistant Project Manager assists with the planning, directing, and coordinating of activities for designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Assists in reviewing project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project. Will be responsible for contract administration, billing, submittal processing, bid preparation, and filing, among other duties, as the project may require. Extensive experience in Word Processing, using Spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, and Database software is essential for this position. Supervisory experience is preferred. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment. Will be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.Responsibilities *The following are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for this position.Update and maintain the construction scheduleDocument daily activities and identifying/solving on-site construction issuesPrepare and supervise completion of project closeoutAssist other craft workers as neededQualificationsPhysicalMust be able to lift up to 25 lbs., but may occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.Hearing and comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directionsWill need to perform sedentary to heavy workWill operate office equipment of all typesClimb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffoldsRequired to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basisPosition may require prolonged bending/twisting, walking, reaching overhead, squatting, sitting or standing and liftingMust be able to manipulate and traverse uneven terrain, ladders, and multi-floor buildings with no elevatorMust be able to walk on uneven surfaces, muddy conditions, loose rock, loose/soft sand, etc.Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions (Heat, Cold, Rain, Etc.)Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focusAbility to drive cars/trucks as neededMentalMust have the ability to communicate effectively with management/ supervision and field workersTalking and reading & writing comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policyAbility to use math/complete calculationsWork at various tempos, and concentrate amid distractionsDecision making skills necessaryDetail-oriented; must be able to remember, examine, and observe detailsRequires strong leadership and motivational skillsAGENCY STATEMENTCajun does not accept unsolicited resumes from third-party recruiting firms for this position or any position.
