Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our growing Limb Preservation Program at Emory Healthcare. This role is ideal for a clinician with vascular and/or wound care experience who is passionate about improving access to early revascularization and helping build a comprehensive limb preservation system.The APP will combine direct patient care with multidisciplinary coordination and program development to support high-risk PAD and chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI) patients.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate and manage patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD), CLTI, surgical, traumatic and venous stasis related woundsFacilitate rapid access for high-risk referrals to ensure timely imaging and interventionCoordinate care across vascular surgery, podiatry, infectious disease, wound care, and other appropriate care providersParticipate in outpatient vascular clinic and inpatient consult coverageAssist in developing and refining standardized limb preservation pathwaysSupport quality improvement initiatives and referral outreach effortsMaintain accurate documentation and understanding of vascular billing and workflow processesAssist in tracking quality metrics (ie time to revascularization, procedural conversion rates, limb salvage outcomes)Lead/co-lead monthly limb salvage conferencePrior experience in vascular surgery, wound care management, limb preservation or surgical specialty is preferred.Why Join UsThis is a unique opportunity to help shape and grow a comprehensive limb preservation program within a collaborative vascular service line. Job Description:Assists in the evaluation and treatment of patients. Documents the delivery of care in the individual's medical recordsConducts patient interviews and documents patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status and medical problems or potential problemsUnder the direction of a physician, performs physical examinations and specialized diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures including cast application and removal, wound suturing and dressing changesAssists physician in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatmentOrders, schedules and/or performs laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures such as urinalyses, pregnancy and blood tests, and x-raysCommunicates necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled procedures to patientIn collaboration with physician, arranges for consultations with or referrals to other medical professional or community services. Educates patient on health habits, self-examinations, behavior management, need for follow-up assessments/treatments, at home medical care, medication and other issues related to medical or health problems.Works with manager to formulate plan for professional developmentAttends educational in-services as appropriate. Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developmentsMaintains and updates current, accurate patient records including medical assessment, interventions, and evaluationsCollects and interprets diagnostic data to implement appropriate care patient care plansPrepares statistical reports and analyses of research projects and investigational protocols; reports on progress, adverse trends and appropriate conclusions and recommendationsTrains and teaches other health care professionals including students and residents in techniques and procedures unique to specific settingActively participates on organizational health services committeesPerforms related responsibilities as required Minimum Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant programCurrently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)Licensed as appropriate in the state of GeorgiaMay require at least one year of direct experience in one or more high acuity clinical specialtiesPALS, BLS, or ACLS may be required in some areas. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock , Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation , Shift work, Travel may be required.
