First time parents in Coconut Grove, Miami are seeking an experienced Newborn Care Specialist to support them following the arrival of their baby, due April 5. The family is looking for a knowledgeable and calm professional who can provide overnight newborn care and guidance during the early postpartum period. The ideal candidate will bring strong newborn expertise and help the parents establish healthy sleep and feeding routines during the baby’s first weeks. This is a structured overnight role designed to support the parents while providing attentive and professional newborn care. The family is beginning interviews immediately to secure the right candidate before the baby arrives. You must be local to Miami, as this is an overnight, live-out role.10-hour overnight shifts5 nights per weekInitial contract of 4 weeks with a potential extension up to 6 weeks depending on caregiver availability and the family's needsAlways prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of the newbornProviding overnight newborn care and monitoringAssisting with bottle feeding and supporting breastfeeding mother, as neededPreparing bottles and maintaining proper sanitation of all feeding equipmentWashing, sterilizing, and organizing bottles and pump partsPerforming overnight diaper changes and maintaining infant hygieneImplementing soothing techniques and settling the baby back to sleepSupporting the development of healthy sleep habits and age-appropriate sleep routinesMaintaining and adjusting sleep and feeding schedules as the baby growsKeeping detailed overnight logs of feedings, sleep patterns, diaper changes, and observationsMaintaining a clean, organized nursery environmentSanitizing newborn equipment, bottles, and feeding areasWashing, folding, and organizing infant laundry including swaddles, clothing, and linens, as neededProviding guidance to parents regarding newborn care, sleep, feeding, and developmental stagesMonitoring the baby’s overall wellbeing and communicating clearly with parents about overnight patterns or concernsFriendly, professional, and calm demeanorStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to support and educate parentsReliable, attentive, and detail orientedStrong references from previous newborn care placements5+ years as a Certified Newborn Care Specialist, Certified Doula/Postpartum Doula or equivalent extensive newborn experience is a must.Infant CPR and First Aid certificationStrong knowledge of newborn sleep development and feeding supportFluent English speaking is requiredExperience supporting families during the newborn stageAbility to maintain professionalism in a private home environmentAbility to remain awake to provide overnight coverageMust maintain flexibilityto start on or before April 5th$47 per hour
