Best.The Underwriter - Equine programs role provides technical and authoritative support, as well as effective management, for all underwriting/administrative initiatives in the accomplishment of the corporation’s financial, strategic and business plan objectives as respects to the Equine/Cattle Program.Manage a book of equine mortality businessBe responsible for the growth of that book to meet the goals and objectives of the business unitTo achieve terms, conditions and pricing that meet company profit objectivesAchieve loss ratio and production goals and deliver exceptional services in a timely mannerCollaborate with agents and brokers to foster productive and profitable relationshipsParticipate in continuing education and trainingPerform other duties as assigned.Four (4) year college degree, or commensurate experience2-5 years of experience in equine underwriting. Any experience of livestock underwriting would also be beneficial (the position title may be adapted to account for the level of experience of the candidate). Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experienceAdvance knowledge of horses, including the various breeds and uses. Knowledge of common diseases and health issues with horses. Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of productsOpen to relocation to Lexington, KY or located within travel distance to a W.R.
