Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Placentia, California. In this role, you will manage essential financial tasks, including reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in corporate and sales tax, along with a strong background in accounts payable and receivable. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions. u2022 Perform account reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial records. u2022 Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently. u2022 Ensure compliance with corporate tax regulations, including preparing corporate tax returns. u2022 Handle sales tax calculations and reporting in accordance with local and state guidelines. u2022 Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and complete. u2022 Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes. u2022 Collaborate with team members to support construction-related accounting activities. u2022 Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions. u2022 Provide support for audits and ensure adherence to accounting standards. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role. u2022 Proficiency in preparing corporate tax returns and handling sales tax reporting. u2022 Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger management. u2022 Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. u2022 Familiarity with construction accounting practices is a plus. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. u2022 Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. u2022 Solid understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
