Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Sanford, Florida. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is skilled in managing financial records and ensuring accurate reporting. As a key member of the accounting team, you will contribute to maintaining compliance and supporting organizational efficiency. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and post monthly journal entries while reconciling general ledger accounts and conducting thorough account analysis. u2022 Ensure accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations and address any discrepancies. u2022 Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including organizing check runs and ensuring timely payment of bills. u2022 Perform monthly bank statement reconciliations and investigate unusual transactions. u2022 Manage inter-company account billing and reconciliation, resolving variances as needed. u2022 Maintain prepaid expense records, including tracking monthly amortization and usage. u2022 Generate and distribute financial and managerial reports, verifying accuracy and adhering to reporting schedules. u2022 Respond to inquiries from colleagues and managers regarding general ledger entries and financial data. u2022 Organize and retain accounting transaction records in compliance with company policies. u2022 Collaborate on implementing and maintaining credit card management platforms, ensuring smooth operation. Requirements u2022 Demonstrated experience with corporate tax and sales tax processes. u2022 Proficiency in preparing corporate tax returns and managing compliance requirements. u2022 Strong knowledge of journal entry preparation and general ledger maintenance. u2022 Ability to reconcile accounts and analyze financial data effectively. u2022 Familiarity with financial reporting and managerial report generation. u2022 Experience in handling accounts payable and receivable functions. u2022 Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. u2022 Proficiency in accounting software and financial management platforms.
