Summary The Miami VA Healthcare System and the Diagnostic Imaging Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Physician( Diagnostic Radiology) Mammography. The incumbent will provide interpretive and patient care services within the scope of a clinical diagnostic radiologist and mammographer. The physician must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide multimodality diagnostic imaging services with an emphasis on mammographic skills, to include screening mammography, diagnostic mammography and ultrasound, tomography, as well as ultrasound and stereotactic guided biopsies. Duties include, but are not limited to: Interpreting all breast imaging exams including relevant exam comparison and correlation with clinical information in electronic health record. Generating reports that contain pertinent findings and measurements, a description of normal and abnormal structures, discussion of differential diagnoses, recommendations, and impressions. Screening and diagnostic Mammography, breast Ultrasound, breast MRI, and image-guided biopsies. Consulting with patients over results and recommend further testing. Interpreting and analyzing medical images to diagnose illnesses and injuries. Consulting with referring physicians to determine appropriate imaging studies. Administering contrast agents and medications used in imaging procedures. Monitoring patients during procedures to ensure safety and comfort. Defines Modality Specific Protocolling. Consulting with Ordering Providers. Reviewing Orders and defining imaging protocols. Supervises medical students or physician residents (including fellows) Work Schedule: Full-Time -40hours Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm (Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor. The incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs).
