WI-SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - Madison Worker Type: Regular Job Highlights: Maintenance Technician Location: Madison, WI Schedule: Mondayu2013Friday 7:00 AM u2013 3:30 PM Onu2011Call: Yes (rotating; includes one weekend every couple of months) About the Role We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to support daily facility operations through handsu2011on maintenance, repair, and upkeep of building systems and equipment. This role is ideal for someone with a solid mechanical background who enjoys problemu2011solving, working collaboratively, and learning new skills. Key Responsibilities + Perform maintenance and repairs based on work orders or verbal instructions, ensuring accurate documentation + Identify, request, and replace parts and components as needed + Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and factory representatives for equipment repair or replacement + Assist with water and fire system connections and shutu2011offs + Complete basic plumbing and electrical repairs (e.g., lighting, ballasts, fixtures) + Perform carpentry and minor construction tasks including drywall, flooring, cabinetry, painting, and tile work + Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment + Follow all safety procedures and remain alert while on duty + Perform other duties as assigned Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills + Electrical and plumbing experience + Basic mechanical background + Willingness and initiative to learn new skills Interpersonal Skills + Teamwork and collaboration + Clear communication Education & Experience + Minimum of 2 years of maintenance or related experience Physical Requirements + Constant standing and walking + Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 25 lbs (occasionally up to 50 lbs) + Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use + Ability to hear alarms and machinery and use near and far vision effectively + Occasional bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, crawling, and squatting + Rare driving Licensure / Certification + None required Job Summary: Performs preventive and corrective maintenance related to the facilities, equipment and associated systems. including, but not limited to: fire systems, tube system, equipment repair, nurse call, infant abduction system, life safety components, paging system, Med Gas systems, paging systems, locks and door repair. Job Responsibilities and Requirements: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES + Performs repairs according to work orders or verbal instructions and compiles proper documentation following established policies and procedures. Identifies and requests parts and components needed to complete tasks. + Works with vendors, contractors, and factory representatives in regards to the repair and replacement of equipment. Assists contractors and other personnel with connections and shut-offs for water and fire systems. + Performs basic plumbing and electrical repairs and appliance repairs including, but not limited to: changing light bulbs, replacing ballasts and installation of light fixtures. + Performs carpentry and minor construction projects including, but not limited to installation and or repair of drywall, walls, flooring, ceramic tile cabinetry, countertops, shelving, painting. + Assists in maintaining a clean and safe work environment including, but not limited to: debris/trash removal, heavy lifting/moving of materials and equipment, floor-sweeping and material storage. + Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. + Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION EXPERIENCE + Two years' experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS + Constant standing and walking. + Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. + Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry. + Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more). + Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. + Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. + Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. + Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships and to identify and distinguish colors. + Rare use of smell to detect/recognize odors. + Rare driving.
