Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Plymouth, Massachusetts. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in handling accounting operations within a fast-paced real estate investment environment. As part of the team, you will contribute to accurate financial reporting and compliance while ensuring smooth month-end and year-end processes. Responsibilities: u2022 Post and apply receivables accurately to maintain up-to-date financial records. u2022 Prepare and review journal entries, including routine adjustments, to support the general ledger. u2022 Conduct thorough bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of cash balances. u2022 Oversee full-cycle month-end and year-end closings, managing approximately 50 closings per month. u2022 Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies. u2022 Process accounts payable transactions and vendor payments promptly and efficiently. u2022 Maintain fixed asset schedules along with related entries to support asset management. u2022 Track complex intercompany and loan transactions to ensure proper documentation and accounting. u2022 Prepare schedules and documentation required for internal and external audits. u2022 Support payroll processing and ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls. Requirements u2022 Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries with attention to detail. u2022 Strong knowledge of general ledger operations and reconciliations. u2022 Experience with accounting software, particularly QuickBooks. u2022 Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. u2022 Ability to manage multiple closings and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. u2022 Knowledge of fixed asset management and related accounting practices. u2022 Proven ability to track and reconcile intercompany transactions. u2022 Strong analytical skills and the ability to prepare audit schedules and documentation.
