Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Gloucester, Massachusetts. In this role, you will handle a variety of tasks related to processing invoices and payments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all transactions. The position requires strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach to support the financial operations of the company. Responsibilities: u2022 Process and manage invoices for payment, including both purchase order-related and non-purchase order-related transactions. u2022 Collaborate with the procurement team to retrieve necessary documents and ensure proper invoice handling. u2022 Verify vendor information, such as federal ID numbers, and review purchase orders to facilitate timely payments. u2022 Address discrepancies in invoices or purchase orders and implement amendments or stop-payment orders as needed. u2022 Monitor outstanding obligations, identify opportunities for discounts, and manage credits upon payment. u2022 Reconcile monthly statements and transactions to ensure accuracy and maintain up-to-date accounting records. u2022 Perform data entry tasks to accurately record financial information into relevant systems. u2022 Utilize accounting software, such as Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP, or Microsoft Excel, to manage accounts payable processes. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar role, with a focus on invoice processing and payment management. u2022 Proficiency in accounting software such as Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP, and Microsoft Excel. u2022 Strong skills in data entry and coding invoices with a high degree of accuracy. u2022 Ability to reconcile accounts and manage monthly statements effectively. u2022 Familiarity with check runs and vendor payment processes. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. u2022 Effective communication abilities to collaborate with procurement teams and resolve discrepancies. u2022 Knowledge of financial procedures and regulations related to accounts payable.
