Accounting Assistant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team in Columbus, Indiana. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in supporting daily financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in accounting processes. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial software systems. Responsibilities: u2022 Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner. u2022 Manage billing functions, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company policies. u2022 Reconcile cash activity and maintain accurate financial records. u2022 Utilize accounting software systems, including Great Plains, to support daily operations. u2022 Prepare financial reports and summaries using Microsoft Excel. u2022 Assist with payroll tasks and ADP-related financial services. u2022 Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting functions and improve efficiency. u2022 Maintain organized records of invoices, payments, and other financial documents. u2022 Monitor and address discrepancies in financial data to ensure accuracy. u2022 Provide administrative support for various accounting tasks as needed. Requirements u2022 Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Great Plains. u2022 Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes. u2022 Experience with ADP financial services and payroll systems. u2022 Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suites. u2022 Ability to manage billing functions and reconcile cash activity. u2022 Solid understanding of general accounting principles and practices. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. u2022 Effective communication skills for working collaboratively within a team.
