We are currently seeking a Senior Interior Designer to work in Olson Kundigu2019s Seatle office.u00a0 The Senior Interior Designer is responsible for executing and/or participating in project delivery with a specificu00a0focus on technical execution or complex projects.u00a0 u00a0 Primary Responsibilitiesu00a0 u2022 Provides professional interior design consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of projects.u00a0 u2022 Coordinates with or acts as the project manager to directly supervise the teamu2019s design and technicalu00a0 delivery. u00a0u00a0 u2022 May include special expertise roles such as workplace planning, residential outfitting and styling,u00a0 hospitality design etc. u00a0 u2022 Reviews, compiles, and prepares project specifications as required.u00a0 u2022 Takes on aspects of external project communications with subconsultants/clients.u00a0 u2022 Can be relied upon to present directly to the client on technical and design solutions. u00a0 u2022 Prepares construction documents, including technically related interior design components and detailsu00a0 as well as material, FFE, art and outfitting specifications.u00a0 u2022 Independently executes/leads the construction administration process.u00a0 u2022 Manages project quality control.u00a0 u2022 Supervises and guides the work of less experienced interior design team members.u00a0 u2022 Contributes ideas, solutions, and deliverables in team and project environments.u00a0 u2022 Performs other duties as assigned.u00a0 u00a0 Knowledge, Skills & Abilitiesu00a0 u2022 Able to organize and cartoon an interior design drawing set as well as a full FFE specifications package.u00a0 u2022 Review and coordinate consultant drawings.u00a0 u2022 Develop any aspect of the project deliverables (permit drawings, CDs, specifications).u00a0 u2022 Technical design skills and ability to direct this type of work for more junior team members. u00a0 u2022 Demonstrates mentorship qualities to advance firm goals/initiatives and develop project teamu00a0members.u00a0 u2022 Exhibits a high attention to detail and takes responsibility for delivering accurate, high-quality work.u00a0 u2022 Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and effectively prioritizes multiple activities with little guidanceu00a0in a fast-paced, creative and dynamic work environment.u00a0 u2022 Communicates effectively verbally and in writing, demonstrating the ability to communicate effectivelyu00a0with all levels of internal and external u201cclientsu201d and vendors.u00a0 u2022 Demonstrates a growth mindset and an aptitude for presenting opportunities for process improvementu00a0and technology solutions, including learning new software and systems.u00a0 u2022 Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills, including the ability to present solutions andu00a0recommendations for non-standard situations.u00a0 Qualificationsu00a0 u2022 Professional degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or another related field.u00a0 u2022 A minimum of ten years of related professional experience. 15 years of experience preferred u2022 Proficient modeling and documentation skills using Revit.u00a0 u2022 Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suiteu00a0 u00a0 Desired Additional Experience u00a0 u2022 Experience with Bluebeam Revu/Bluebeam Studio.u00a0 u2022 Experience with Deltek Project Planning. u00a0 u2022 Experience with SPEXX or equivalent spec writing software.u00a0 u2022 Experience with sustainability-focused project assessments such as Living Building Challenge, LEED,u00a0 WELL, and high-performance building. u00a0 u2022 A portfolio of work demonstrating design, technical, and drafting abilities.u00a0 u00a0 Working Conditions u00a0 u2022 Sitting for long periods at a time working at a computer.u00a0 What can you expect from us? + A creative work environment and colleagues who are collaborative, creative, and challenging + Opportunity to grow professionally + Check our culture page to learn about life at Olson Kundig In addition to a dynamic and creative culture, Olson Kundig provides a generous benefits package that includes 16 days of paid time off, paid holidays, health plan, 401k match, bonuses, profit-sharing plans for qualified positions, a monthly travel subsidy for public transportation, and more. At the time of posting this job, the hiring range for this position in New York City is between $94,000 to $117,000 annually.
