Die Maintenance - 1st shift Direct Hire

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Description: Basic Function: This position isresponsible for maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting dies andfixtures before, during and after production runs to optimizeperformance and tool life. Reporting Relationships: This positionreports to the Die Maintenance Supervisor. This position is notresponsible for supervising. Authority: This position has the authorityto stop production and report issues to the Stamping Department Manager,Die Maintenance Supervisor and/or Quality Manager(s). Responsibilities:(What should be accomplished) Is responsible for maintaining andsharpening dies as determined after evaluation of condition andperformance. Is responsible for troubleshooting tooling duringproduction runs for quality or performance issues. Is responsible forbuilding new die components. Is responsible for identifying items to bepurchased and working with the Die Is responsible for maintaining toolrepair records in Plex. Is responsible for keeping records on diemaintenance sheets Principle Duties: (Tasks) Maintain a clean and safework environment Complete forms and submit to department manager forordering materials Perform other duties as needed, includinghousekeeping Assist Stamping operators for quality production OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Standards of Performance: Followscompanies' attendance policy Maintains a safe work environment Dies areevaluated, maintained, and recorded in a timely manner Minimum level ofeducation/training required: This position requires successfulcompletion of 4 years of high school, or equivalent, as well assuccessful completion of a state indentured tool and die apprenticeshipprogram, or six or more years served as a nonindentured tool and diemaker working on stamping dies. Minimum experience required: Thisposition requires a journeyman tool maker with 3 years of experience inbuilding, maintaining, and troubleshooting progressive tooling. Basiccomputer skills are also required. License or certificate required:Journeyman Card in Tool and Die.
