Job Description Position Overview Asa SCADA Project Engineer, you will be on the Construction team, withresponsibility for the engineering, procurement support, commissioning,and acceptance of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and associatedcommunications and control infrastructure for thermal generationprojects (natural gas combustion turbines, combined cycle power plants,etc.). The role requires close coordination with multiple internal andexternal stakeholders to develop conceptual control system designs,manage procurement activities, and oversee detailed design,commissioning, and site acceptance testing through project completion.The scope of systems includes DCS and plant IT/OT platforms such asRTACs, RTUs, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), network switches,firewalls, annunciators, HMIs, and all associated connectivitysupporting steam turbine, combined-cycle, simple-cycle gas turbine, andgeothermal facilities. The scope may also include providing support forrenewable energy projects, as needed. Responsibilities: SCADAEngineering and Projects' Technical Responsibility Specification andconfiguration of DCS, power plant controller, RTU, & IT equipment Develop conceptual project designs that comply with all criticalstakeholder and interconnection requirements Creation of conceptualblock diagrams Conduct thorough reviews of detailed design drawings Track design schedules, update all stakeholders and ensure thatcritical dates are met on time. Organize and transfer all as-builtdocumentation to operations team including schematics, bills ofmaterials, and programming settings Verify that all applicable NERCrequirements are considered and fulfilled. Coordinate withindependent engineers and project partners to effectively navigate thetechnical due diligence process. Assist in the development of newprojects by analyzing conceptual designs and RFQ specifications. Coordinate with operations engineering and third party customers toincorporate lessons learned into new designs Maintain up-to-dateknowledge of industry technology through various training sessions andconferences Procurement and Construction Support Coordinate theprocurement and installation of necessary telecom services. Interfacewith plant controller manufacturers, transmission operators, generatorowners and operators to configure systems as needed. Coordinatenetworking equipment configuration including specifying physicalinterfaces and protocols, assigning IP addresses, and administration offirewall rules. Monitor construction progress remotely and viaon-site inspections. Support resolution of any field issues. Attendin-person meetings with stakeholders. Provide on-site programming andfield support during commissioning. Lead efforts with project team todevelop operational plans to energize, commission, and turnover projectswhile maintaining NERC compliance Minimum Qualifications Bachelor'sdegree required in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering orrelated discipline. 3+ years of generation DCS experience.
