Salary Range $40.00 - $56.00 Hourly Category Construction Description Albany, NY: Highway Construction Inspectors 2026 At Boswell, we understand the significance of our work and its impact on society. Due to consistent growth, we are seeking an additional 10 Highway Construction Inspectors for the 2026 Season in the Albany, NY area. Current US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required as well as prior NYSDOT inspection experience. Ideally, we are s eeking Construction Inspectors of all NICET Levels (II, III, IV) for assignment on upcoming highway, culvert, rail and bridge projects throughout NYSDOT Region 1 (Albany) Responsibilities: + Perform on-site inspection of various heavy highway and/or bridge rehabilitation/ replacement, culverts, resurfacing, and roadway safety improvement projects. + Daily inspection efforts on projects of varied complexity and size in order to ensure contractors operations comply with project plans, specifications, and contract documents + Complete daily inspection reports + Prepare sketches and assemble data to utilize when making field changes to the project + Provide on-site inspection to ensure adequate inspection of contractoru2019s work, safety protocols, are in conformance with the contract plans and specifications. + Assist Resident Engineer, Office Engineer and/or Chief Inspection in keeping track of pay items, MPT compliance, site safety, contract specific requirements, and reporting any deviations + Assure general compliance with the clientu2019s standards and specifications + Perform both office and field Construction Inspection duties + Adhere to internal standards, policies and procedures + Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: + Associates or Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering for pertinent NICET equivalency + Ability to interpret plans/ specifications and properly document collected data + Prior history as l Construction Inspector on NYSDOT transportation projects + Prior experience supervising subordinate staff for NICET III / IV assignments preferred. Professional Engineer (P.E. or P. Eng) license in lieu of NICET III or IV license is also preferred. + ACI Field Technician Certification + Traffic Control Certification + NETTCP, NACE and/or SSPC Certification a plus + Experience and familiarity with MURK + Familiarity and working knowledge of SiteManager + Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs + Valid driveru2019s license and reliable transportation as well as current US work eligibility preferred + Ability and flexibility to work nights and/or weekends as required We recognize that the best way to provide services of the highest quality is by investing in our employees. The hourly non-exempt pay range below is applicable for the job and location associated with this position. Overtime pay at 1.5 times and a night work differential is added at 10% of base rate. Compensation will vary based on specific relevant experience, education, certifications, skill levels, geographic location and other compensable factors.
