Accounting Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in San Francisco, California. In this role, you will oversee essential accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This position requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail, as you will play a key role in managing month-end processes and audits. Responsibilities: + Manages and supports the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance reviews. + Oversees daily billing, collections, A/R, and A/P activities. + Supports the Controller and ensures deadlines and quality standards are met. + Creates a positive, team-focused work environment and coordinates staff matters with HR. + Maintains and improves accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. + Trains staff firm-wide on accounting processes and systems. + Handles daily banking activities, including deposits, transfers, and wires. + Assists with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end and year-end close. + Provides hands-on support, resolves system issues, and helps with software upgrades and automation. Requirements + Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting or related field required. + 3+ years managing accounting operations and supervising staff in professional services; law firm experience preferred. + Strong leadership, supervision, and team development skills. + Solid understanding of accounting principles and business judgment. + Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills. + Highly organized; able to manage multiple priorities at once. + Hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making. + Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting systems. + Ability to quickly learn Aderant Sierra and other accounting software to produce accurate reports.
