BASIC PURPOSE Improve product quality and consistency by conducting checks at receiving, processing and shipping. Facilitate the implementation of the GFSI standard by supporting the FSQA role and operation activities in the plant. Monitor implementation all Food safety, Regulatory and Quality programs within the assigned area of responsibility Stock Yards - Las Vegas 1st shift Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:00 am - 12:00 pm (OT) ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform incoming raw material check, including trailer inspection (cleanliness, temperature, overall conditions), box inspection (intact, undamaged), product appearance & temperature, adherence to product purchasing specifications and weight Perform outgoing finished product inspection, including reviewing filled orders for accuracy, inspecting box condition prior to shipping, verify product temperature is within acceptable level, inspecting trailers for cleanliness, temperature, satisfactory condition and completion of box label, product content and weight checks. Perform work in progress QC tasks, including equipment calibration (thermometers, scales, antimicrobial application) and monitoring of metal detector operation, monitoring of aged inventory, order filler checks, CCP verification, daily monitoring of antimicrobial application. Assist with inventory control. Perform daily steak cutting quality checks, monitor cutting yield. Perform QC checks on product samples prior to shipment to ensure proper specifications, appearance, packaging and accurate order fulfillment. Conduct employees training when necessary. Complete and submit regular reports for statistical or operational analysis. Evaluate conditions of returned product for proper disposition Performing all duties in compliance with USDA, DDA, OSHA, state and/or local regulations. Company policies and procedures include: safety guidelines and the use of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPu2019s) and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and must be adhered to. SUPERVISION: u00b7 N/A RELATIONSHIPS u00b7 Internal: FSQA department, Warehouse & Processing employees. The incumbent is required to interact with employees, customers, and vendors at all levels of responsibility throughout the company in a professional manner u00b7 External: USDA/FDA officials WORK ENVIRONMENT u00b7 Must be able to work continually in a refrigerated environment 35u00b0F- 45u00b0F. Must be able to work for periods of time in a freezer environment -10u00b0F to +10u00b0F with company provided apparel. May require overtime with or without notice. Finish time is when work is completed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS u00b7 Must possess a minimum of 1year of experience in food production environment. EDUCATION u00b7 High School Diploma/GED required CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING u00b7 HACCP Certified preferred.
