Job Description As an intermediate-level Database Administrator, the resource, participates in 24x7 software and hardware support for complex applications in several versions of SQL Server, with high availability and Disaster Recovery support, following industry and DTMB development standards. Helps develop and/or submit for approval, plans for installation, patch management maintenance, upgrades and support for the Database systems. . Evaluate impacts of change and new technology, recommend solutions to persistent problems, and serves as Agency Services liaison to external consultants. Individual tasks related to the duty:u2003u2003 u00b7u2003Follow and enforce database standards, policies & procedures. Research and draft guidelines within the boundaries of current policies and standards. u00b7u2003Monitor space allocation across databases. perform adjustments in test and development environments as necessary and as prescribed by predefined standards/guidelines. u00b7u2003Calculate disk space requirements for existing and/or new installations of existing business needs u00b7u2003Modify DBMS parameters based on capacity changes. u00b7u2003Configure and execute database integrity checks. u00b7u2003Monitor for database integrity checks. . u00b7u2003Install database base management software for development and test environments. u00b7u2003Install database patches and service packs for development and test environments. u00b7u2003Monitor and support clustered database environments. u00b7u2003Monitor and support database replication and backup environments. u00b7u2003Implement the strategy to release unused space or repair fragmentation in test and development environments. u00b7u2003Execute (run) scripts provided by Systems Analysts or Database Architect/Designer for creating and modifying database objects (tables, views, constraints, indexes, etc.) u00b7u2003Monitor database back-ups to ensure recoverability. Troubleshoot backup errors. u00b7u2003Monitor database jobs and scheduled processes in development, test and production environments. Participate in troubleshooting. u00b7u2003Monitor database environments (using alert logs, trace files, alert mechanisms, and other tools) for issues and problems with database functionality, connectivity, or downtime. u00b7u2003 Follow standards and guidelines for database space allocation based on best practices and implementation considerations based on business requirements. $40/hr - $46/hr Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401K retirement account access with employer matching. Education: A 4-year college level degree (Bachelors) in the field of Computer/Information sciences/Technology. In the case of candidates with lot of experience, education requirements could be relaxed, and an associate degree could suffice. -Experience with Azure cloud -Experience migrating on-prem to Azure -Experience with 3rd party monitoring tools like Redgate
