The Medical Assistant is part of the Pediatric Division team. Although this position follows established work processes, they have the authority to determine the procedures required to accomplish the work.This position requires interest in patient care and administrative tasks, the ability to be self-directed, detail-oriented, and adaptable in high-intensity environments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required as well.Patient Care Responsibilities (80%): + Phlebotomy/blood draws as needed + Give flu shots per provider's order + Administer depression screening as needed + Order supplies as needed + Enter lab results from outside labs and BDC 4th floor lab into EPIC + Practice HIPAA complianceLogistics Responsibilities (20%): + Ensure exam rooms are fully stocked in accordance to physician needs + Inventory log/medical supplies + Other duties as assigned - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado. The BDC Pediatric Diabetes Division provides families and patients with an understanding of type 1 diabetes and encourages their confidence in its day-to-day management.
