Apply nowThe Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR)is searching for a skilled Sign Shop Supervisor, where youll oversee thedaily operations of a high-volume sign production facility. Thishands-on role involves managing inventory, overseeing equipmentmaintenance, ensuring quality control, and coordinating productionschedules to deliver timely, cost-effective, and high-quality output.Youll supervise and train staff and inmate workers, maintain safety andsanitation standards, and collaborate with internal teams to meetcustomer needs.For further information about the Arizona Correctional Industries visit:Duties:- Supervises staff and inmate workers and assists them with scheduling- Instructs and trains inmate workers on various production processesand methods- Provides security by closely monitoring inmate workers' activities- Ensures safe operation of machinery- Verifies the quality of the product produced throughout the productionprocess to ensure the product is made to approved specifications- Costs out jobs and sets up production to be the most cost-effective inorder to get the product to the customer on time- Interacts with other department staff, customers, and ACI CustomerService Departments- Drives on State business- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignmentKnowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge of:- Supervisory and managerial techniques- Technical and mechanical knowledge applicable to the Sign Shop- Field and equipment maintenance- Budget management- Manufacturing and production techniques and methods- Quality control techniques- On-the-job training principles and applications- Thorough understanding of personnel, fiscal, and material managementprinciplesSkill in:- Operating the machinery utilized in sign production- Leadership, supervision, management, and decision-making- Communication- Analyzing and problem-solving- Giving direction, administration, and delivering constructivecriticism- Basic principles of team-building and motivationAbility to:- Lift/Carry Approximately 50lbs- Push/Pull Approximately 50lbs- Walk/Run Approximately 1 mile- Establish and maintain working relationships with staff, customers andvendors- Apply basic auditing and accounting principles and maintain accuratefinancial records- Maintain the security of confidential information- Maintain inventory control, administer work evaluations, and reviewwork products- Work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions- Make sound decisions and achieve effective resolutions to issues- Adhere to and enforce ADCRR policies and procedures- Learn ACIs financial accounting system software, such as Epicor- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt quickly to changingpriorities- Supervise and provide training for employees and inmates assigned tothe Sign shop- Run calculators and computers- Understand complex scheduling needs and inventory issues- Work in a prison/correctional environmentSelective Preference(s):- At least three (3) years of on-t e-job field or shop experience- Bachelors degree in Business/Public Administration or related fieldfrom an accredited college or university, along with demonstratedsuccesses and experience in managing and coordinating a sign productionoperation- Certification in Production and Inventory Management or IntegratedResources Management is a plusPre-Employment Requirements:Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a backgroundinvestigation, drug test, and possibly a medical/physical examination.If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as anessential function of the job, then the following requirements apply.Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possessand retain a current, valid class-appropriate drivers license, completeall required training, and successfully pass all necessary driverslicense record checks.
