Under general supervision, the Sheriff's Records Officer II performs a variety of supervisory, budgetary, and/or technical law enforcement support duties within the Sheriff's Department. Examples of Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of + Principles and practices of supervision, training, and personnel management + Principles and practices of leadership, motivation, team building and conflict resolution + Basic principles and procedures of budget preparation and control + General accounting, financial and statistical recordkeeping + Basic arithmetic, including percentages, fractions, and decimals + Methods and techniques for conducting analytical studies + Correct English usage including grammar, punctuation, and spelling + Organizational structure of the Sheriff's Department + Terminology used in law enforcement and the criminal justice system + Inventory control and space management Ability to + Supervise, prioritize, and balance the work of staff to assure timely accomplishment of assigned workload + Train and evaluate staff + Coordinate and schedule work, assignments, and activities + Perform budget analysis, preparation, and monitoring + Read, understand, interpret and apply departmental policies, rules, law enforcement codes, and ordinances + Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing + Establish and maintain effective working relationships + Maintain courteous and cooperative behavior in adverse situations + Work under stress and time constraints Employment Qualifications Minimum Qualifications One year of full-time experience in the class of Sheriff's Records Officer I and/or the former class of Community Services Specialist III in Sacramento County service, Or One year of full-time experience as an Administrative Services Officer I in Sacramento County service.
