Job Title: MEP SupervisorJob Description The MEP Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, coordination, and execution of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems across building and infrastructure projects. This role serves as the technical and coordination lead for MEP disciplines, ensuring systems are fully integrated, compliant with applicable codes and standards, and delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Responsibilities + Lead and coordinate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system design from concept through construction and closeout. + Review and approve MEP drawings, specifications, calculations, and submittals for accuracy and constructability. + Ensure MEP systems are fully coordinated with architectural, structural, and civil designs. + Serve as the primary technical authority and subject matter expert (SME) for MEP-related issues. + Manage MEP scope, schedule, and deliverables across multiple projects or complex programs. + Collaborate with project managers to support budgeting, scheduling, risk mitigation, and change management. + Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and construction progress assessments. + Identify potential conflicts, design gaps, and constructability issues and implement corrective actions. + Ensure all MEP systems comply with applicable local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and industry standards. + Support permitting processes and respond to Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) comments and requests. + Promote safety, quality, and sustainability best practices throughout project execution. + Mentor and provide technical guidance to MEP engineers, designers, and consultants across disciplines. + Support knowledge sharing, technical development, and continuous improvement initiatives. + Act as a key point of contact for clients on MEP-related topics. + Present technical solutions, design approaches, and project updates to internal and external stakeholders. + Support proposal development, scope definition, and technical interviews as needed. Essential Skills + Bacheloru2019s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. + 8+ years of progressive experience in MEP engineering and design for building projects. + Proven experience leading multidisciplinary MEP teams and coordinating complex designs. + Strong knowledge of HVAC, power distribution, lighting, plumbing, fire protection, and life safety systems. + Thorough understanding of building codes, standards, and permitting requirements. + Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain. + Experience in healthcare, life sciences, mission-critical, commercial, or industrial facilities. + Familiarity with BIM and coordination tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks). + Experience supporting construction administration and commissioning activities. + Basic understanding of construction jobsite workflows and discipline-specific roles (Electrical, Mechanical, etc.). + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data validation) and Power BI (dashboards, reporting). + Strong attention to detail and ability to cross-reference timekeeping data with project documentation. + Excellent communication skills to coordinate between field teams and back-office billing departments. + Prior experience in labor tracking, project coordination, or administrative support in a construction environment. + Data analytics background for interpreting labor trends and optimizing reporting. + Familiarity with construction labor billing processes and scope coding systems. + Strong knowledge of Project Controls, Estimating & experience adhering to budgets. + Willingness to travel to other projects up to 20% of the time. Work Environment This position is on-site at the Fremont facility. Employees will work in a dynamic environment that involves collaboration with architects, structural engineers, project managers, contractors, and clients. The facility is equipped with advanced technologies and tools necessary for effective project execution. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fremont, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $85.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
