Divisional/Plant Controller

Description We are looking for a skilled Divisional/Plant Controller to join our team in central Michigan. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and improving processes to drive efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with manufacturing teams and contribute to the success of a dynamic plant environment. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. u2022 Oversee manufacturing cost accounting activities, ensuring proper allocation and tracking of costs. u2022 Conduct detailed reviews of balance sheet accounts and profit and loss statements to ensure accuracy. u2022 Provide guidance to the cost accounting team, helping them translate technical accounting concepts into actionable insights. u2022 Evaluate and improve current accounting processes to optimize efficiency and compliance. u2022 Collaborate with corporate shared services to review and finalize financial entries. u2022 Analyze transactional-level details to identify discrepancies and ensure proper debit and credit balances. u2022 Support efforts to align financial statements and accounts with company standards. u2022 Act as a hands-on leader, mentoring and upskilling staff in accounting and financial reporting. u2022 Utilize JD Edwards Oracle and consolidation software to manage and report plant financials. Requirements u2022 Strong understanding of debits, credits, and how financial statements interconnect. u2022 Proven experience in manufacturing cost accounting and plant controllership. u2022 Familiarity with month-end close processes in a manufacturing environment. u2022 Expertise in balance sheet account reconciliation and profit and loss analysis. u2022 Proficiency in JD Edwards Oracle and financial consolidation software. u2022 Ability to evaluate and improve existing accounting processes and systems. u2022 Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams and explain complex concepts. u2022 Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
