Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a non-profit organization in Bronx, New York. This Contract to permanent role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations and gain long-term career growth. The selected candidate will play a key role in managing accounts payable processes, payroll support, and general accounting responsibilities while ensuring accuracy and compliance. Responsibilities: u2022 Process invoices and ensure timely approvals from relevant staff. u2022 Prepare weekly accounts payable aging reports and coordinate payment runs. u2022 Manage vendor communications, resolve payment discrepancies, and handle missing information. u2022 Process payments, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transactions. u2022 Maintain vendor files and support the preparation of 1099 forms. u2022 Assist in coding and documenting grant-related expenses accurately. u2022 Support payroll processing tasks, reconcile payroll expenses, and handle reimbursements. u2022 Perform credit card reconciliations and draft journal entries for corrections or reclassifications. u2022 Organize financial files to ensure readiness for audits and assist with monthly close activities. u2022 Collaborate with staff, vendors, and consultants to streamline financial operations. Requirements u2022 Demonstrated experience in accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and payment runs. u2022 Proficiency with financial systems such as Stampli and Sage Intacct. u2022 Knowledge of payment methods, including ACH transfers and check processing. u2022 Familiarity with payroll tasks, including expense coding and reconciliation. u2022 Strong organizational skills to manage vendor files and audit preparation. u2022 Ability to perform credit card reconciliations and draft journal entries. u2022 Experience working in a non-profit or similar environment is a plus. u2022 Excellent communication skills to coordinate with vendors and internal teams.
