In this influential role, you'll guide projects from early design through final inspection, ensuring constructability, maintainability, and schedule efficiency across a diverse portfolio of transportation projects. You'll collaborate with designers, engineers, and construction teams to identify risks early, streamline project delivery, and help refine best practices that elevate quality and reduce cost and schedule impacts. This is an opportunity for a seasoned construction professional to make a measurable impact on how major infrastructure projects are planned and deliveredWhat You'll DoIntegrate the Constructability/Maintainability Review Process into each assigned projectDevelop and maintain projectspecific constructability and maintainability checklistsParticipate in milestone meetings from Engineering & Environmental Scoping through Final Inspection and AfterAction ReviewsAssess earlystage design packages to determine the appropriate level of constructability reviewApply engineering expertise during Design Field Views and Design Review meetings to identify concerns and facilitate crossdiscipline solutionsReview design plans, supplemental plans, special provisions, and environmental permits for constructabilitySupport development of construction sequencing, phasing, and schedulingPrepare and/or review prebid schedules for inclusion in bid documentsConduct preliminary reviews of prebid construction schedules to identify inefficiencies or risksVerify resolution of prior issues and communicate outstanding concerns before preconstruction meetingsParticipate in Value Engineering (VE) proposal evaluationsAttend Final Inspections and AfterAction Review meetingsMaintain a comprehensive database of lessons learned, special provisions, production rates, and district best practicesCoordinate quarterly AAR meetings to refine project delivery processes and reduce work orders and schedule impactsRequired Skills & Experience15+ years managing heavy civil highway construction (consultant, owner, or contractor)Strong background in roadway, utility, and structural constructionAbility to read and interpret roadway plans and specificationsSolid understanding of contractor means and methodsKnowledge of QA/QC processesFamiliarity with contract specifications and standardsProficiency with ECMS, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office. u00a0Candidates without prior experience must demonstrate the ability to learn and use these tools quickly, efficiently and effectivelyUnderstanding of project controls, including CPM scheduling, cost estimating, and claims avoidance and analysisAble to read, write and speak professionallyAbility to legally driveAbility to walk around various construction sitesAbility to work independently and in teamsAbility to speak in public such as training or presenting to groupPreferred QualificationsB.S.
