Now Hiring: Direct Support Professional - St. Joseph’s HouseLocation:Hyannis, MASalary: $20.50/HourlyWork Schedule: Thursday - Saturday: 3PM to 11PM & Sunday 7AM to 3PM (This is a 32-hour position)Lead with Heart. They will be responsible for ensuring the functions of the program are met while providing services that are safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and client-centered.What You’ll Do:Ability to work as part of a team with a commitment to end homelessness Must demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times Must exemplify our mission in action: which is helping those in need and treating others with compassion, dignity and respectCreate and maintain a positive environment for clients, staff and service providersListen to clients and offer support, encouragement and empathy within the context of healthy boundariesThoroughly orient new guests to the general shelter environmentMaintain clear, detailed records during shiftCheck and enforce that all clients maintain a clean and safe living spaceLaunder bedding, linens, and any other necessary itemsSupport clients and assume responsibility for enforcing the rules and policies of the shelter Identify and follow through with resolutions of problems that arise within the shelterDe-escalate conflicts, identify safety concerns, accurately report all incidentsResponsible for documenting log notes with any and all important information that occurs during the shiftResponsible for checking in anyone entering shelter (Clients, Guests, Visitors etc.)Conduct hourly rounds, to ensure the safety of the clients and the shelterComplete work orders for Maintenance as necessaryComplete exit walk through, turn around report and unit set upClean office and empty trashEnsure cleanliness of all hallways and parking lotMaintain and track shelter supplies, shelter keys and inventory of the food pantryAssist with meal preparation and cookingAttends all scheduled staff meetingsMust adhere to all EOHLC program requirementsResponsible for filing client information as necessaryRespond to inquiries, phone calls and correspondence in a timely mannerComplete all tasks assigned by the House Manager/Supervisor Work with the Manager/Supervisor on any additional projects/matters for which he/she requests related to EOHLC or the programAttend all required program trainings and assigned in-service trainings to comply with annual training requirementsComply with all safety regulations, CCFR policies and adhere to agency confidentiality policyReport all safety concerns to Manager/SupervisorMandated reporting of abuse and neglectResponsible for reporting all incidents (critical, serious or non-compliance) to the Manager/SupervisorThis is ahands-on role, primarily scheduled Thursday - Saturday: 3PM to 11PM & Sunday 7AM to 3PMWhat You Bring:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services (preferred) or equivalent experienceExperience: 1-2 years of shelter experienceHomelessness services, mental health, trauma, or substance use supportExcellent organizational, communication, and assessment skillsStrong leadership abilities with a heart for serviceProficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and ExcelReliable, insured vehicle and valid driver’s licenseBilingual skills are a plus!Working Conditions:The work environment described represents what may be encountered while performing the essential functions of the job.
