Makes daily observations to create opportunities to offer real-time interventions and support.Collaborates with the Education Department as they provide dementia training for all of Willow Valley Communities to promote consistency of best practice content.Maintains excellent relationships with Team Members, Residents, volunteers, and guests.Assists with support groups and community outreach as needed.Serves as a resource to the interdisciplinary team and participates in support plan meetings as requested.Models exemplary customer service and the MORE (Make a Difference, Own Excellence, Respect Relationships, Enhance Well-Being) values toward Team Members, Residents and guests.Creates a positive and encouraging learning environment for those receiving education.Demonstrates ability to effectively convey person-directed culture of the MDTMC while utilizing varying teaching methods to meet the needs of the learner.Models person-first language to uphold the principles of the MDTMC.Acts as a cultural steward of the 'This is Personal' philosophy, modeling empathy, respect, and relationship-centered Support.Your Commitment to Memory CareYou’ll champion a thoughtful, compassionate approach to aging by:Reinforcing and exercising a person-directed approach to aging.Working from a strengths-based perspective to seek moments of joy and embrace the possibilities of a 'Life Lived Forward.'Directs others to adopt a habilitative approach to care.Providing comfort care to residents living with advanced memory issues that are aligned with the values of autonomy, ownership, and supporting a life lived forward-even in its final stages.What You BringWe’re looking for someone who is passionate about education and dementia care, with:Bachelor’s degree in Education, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field (Master’s preferred)At least 1 year of providing educationExperience working with people living with dementiaBackground in holistic wellness, healthcare principles, and department managementStrong computer skills, including Microsoft OfficeA collaborative, empathetic teaching style and strong communication skillsSchedule & Location40 hours/weekMonday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pmMarlin & Doris Thomas Memory CenterWillow Valley Communities - Willow Street, PA 17584#ADM100
