All the benefits and perks you need for you and your family: + Benefits from Day One: Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance + Paid Time Off from Day One + 403-B Retirement Plan + 4 Weeks 100% Paid Parental Leave + Career Development + Whole Person Well-being Resources + Mental Health Resources and Support + Pet Benefits Schedule: Full time Shift: Day (United States of America) Address: 63 S MEDICAL CT City: MARION State: North Carolina Postal Code: 28752 Job Description: Shift: Full Time Days Mon-Fri 8am-5pm Location: 63 S Medical Ct, Marion, NC u2022 Evaluates prescribed imaging and makes requested changes within 24 hours, accurately documenting treatment information in the patient electronic record and utilizing the record and verify system. u2022 Reviews all new starts for consistency prior to treatment, verifying patient positioning and field orientation, and checking the record and verify system for prescription, treatment parameters, doses, treatment accessories, and monitor units. u2022 Performs morning Quality Assurance (QA) on the treatment unit, assessing whether all equipment is operating according to physics policy and calling the appropriate person immediately after equipment malfunctions. u2022 Assists in maintaining department supplies and provides supervised education experiences for students that fulfill curriculum requirements of the academic institution. u2022 As required by facility, participates in after hours on-call coverage, maintains competency with afterhours treatment coverage, performs 2D treatment calculations, and works with minimal direction and supervision. u2022 Verifies the physicianu2019s prescription and treatment parameters daily to ensure accurate treatment of the patient in accordance with the prescription and treatment plan. u2022 Identifies the treatment volume and positions the patient in a consistent and reproducible manner. u2022 Assesses patientsu2019 needs and actively seeks to resolve any potential problems or conflicts, consulting with the chief therapist/supervisor as necessary. u2022 Treats patients in a timely and courteous manner, handling stressful situations appropriately and communicating effectively with patients of all ages. u2022 Clinically observes patient reactions to treatment and assists in accommodating the patient through the treatment process. u2022 Performs all aspects of CT Simulation, including administering contrast agents during simulation localization under the direction of a physician or non-physician practitioner. u2022 Immediately reports and documents adverse reactions to the managing physician and site leaders. u2022 Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: u2022 Computer literate [Required] u2022 Proficiency in Electronic Health Records and record and verify systems [Required] u2022 Knowledge of anatomical structures for localization [Required] u2022 Technical skills to accomplish treatment plans proposed by Radiation Oncologists [Required] u2022 Ability to learn and use Radiation Therapy software packages [Required] u2022 Quick adaptability to departmental policies and procedures [Required] u2022 Understanding of Basic Radiation Safety concepts to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff [Required] u2022 Proficient in the use of Linear Accelerator, Treatment Planning Simulator, and patient tracking and scheduling systems [Required] u2022 Excellent clerical skills for record keeping [Required] u2022 Knowledge of radiobiology, doses to critical structures, and lymphatics for spread of disease [Required] u2022 Effective communication skills and ability to handle delicate or stressful issues with tact [Required] u2022 Familiarity with a range of medical devices and systems including patient dose monitors, portal imaging systems, and patient immobilization devices [Required] u2022 Fluent in the English language and able to comprehend both written and verbal instructions [Required] u2022 Organizational, interpersonal, and customer relations skills [Required] u2022 Competence in grammar, spelling, keyboarding, and computer usage [Required] Education: u2022 Associate's [Required] u2022 Bacheloru2019s [Preferred] Field of Study: u2022 Completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program [Required] Work Experience: u20221+ year of experience as a radiation therapist [Preferred] Additional Information: u2022 Additional Licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state in which this position is located.
