Machinist

Job Title: Machinist Job Description As a Prototype Machinist, you will be responsible for operating CNC Machines in a job shop environment to produce complex components with tight tolerances. This role involves manufacturing parts from prints while adhering to strict quality and delivery deadlines. On-the-job training is provided as necessary. Responsibilities + Perform advanced setup operations and adjust machine tools to execute operations from provided programs. + Check and adjust programming, operating CNC machine tools for a series of complex machining operations. + Modify speeds and feeds during operation and work from programming instructions, operational data, and machine setup instructions. + Check parts for conformance to specifications and may run more than one unit simultaneously. + Complete multiple setups, offsets, and program edits using G&M Codes, handling tool changes, and managing multiple runs at a time. Essential Skills + Blueprint reading - print to part machining + Proficiency in GD&T to ensure parts can be machined per specifications + 4+ years of experience in print to part machining using CNC Mills or Lathes + 4+ years of experience in editing or programming G&M codes with controls such as Heidenhain, Siemens, Fanuc, or Mazak Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in machining larger parts, weighing 10,000 lbs or more + Familiarity with Heidenhain or Siemens controls + Ability to take on new builds and projects daily Why Work Here? Work Environment The job is located in a job shop manufacturing floor environment. You will be exposed to oil, dirt, debris, fumes, moving machinery, equipment, and occasional high decibels. The shop floor is climate-controlled, and PPE is required at all times. There are openings for 3rd shift from Monday to Thursday, and weekend shifts from Friday to Sunday, with generous shift premiums available. This role involves physical demands, including heavy lifting up to 50 lbs with assistance, and requires bending, stooping, and twisting motions during operation. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Merrill, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.47 - $36.20/hr.
