Laboratory Technician u2013 Plating & Chemical Analysis Location: Detroit Employment Type: Direct Hire Job Summary A confidential aerospace manufacturing organization in the Metro Detroit area is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support plating operations through chemical analysis and process control. This role is responsible for analyzing plating solutions, acids, and cleaners to ensure compliance with specifications and production requirements. You will be doing a lot of porosity testing and panel testing (cutting paper, handling salt spray, passing out panels, only some chemical testing, and helping make up tanks and cleaning tanks on the floor). Essential Duties & Responsibilities + Perform chemical analysis on plating baths, acids, and cleaners + Utilize laboratory glassware including pipettes, burettes, and related equipment + Operate analytical instruments such as AA Spectrophotometer and UV/Visible spectrophotometer + Read and follow established analytical methods and procedures + Perform basic acid/base and redox titrations + Make chemical additions to plating tanks as required + Comply with all PPE and safety requirements based on plant location + Support tank maintenance activities as needed Qualifications To perform this role successfully, candidates must be able to meet the essential job requirements.
