You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, and materials disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects. District Overview Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers seamlessly transitions solutions from design to construction through the collaborative efforts of Design Engineering, Design Management, Proposals, Estimating, and Integrated Project Controls. Our construction-focused engineering approach involves a multidisciplinary team working together to maximize value for clients by improving schedules, controlling costs, and minimizing risk on infrastructure projects. This integrated strategy emphasizes collaboration and constructability throughout the project lifecycle, enabling us to identify and implement quality solutions with a strong safety focus. Responsibilities + Develop Water resources/drainage design concepts using AutoCAD + Develop presentation exhibits using AutoCAD + Investigate alternate intersection/interchange concepts Qualifications + Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related degree with a focus on hydraulics or hydrology courses + GPA above 3.0 preferred + Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel. + Strong work ethic - willing to do what it takes to get the job done. + Good written and verbal communication skills. + Coursework in transportation, and AutoCAD software + Be willing to fully participate in job assignments at the job site, district office or department to which the intern is assigned Other Requirements: u2022 Regular, reliable attendance u2022 Work productively and meet deadlines timely u2022 Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment u2022 Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. u2022 Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
