We are committed to serving the community and treating our patients as family.As a Clinical Speech Pathologist, you will perform diagnostic speech pathology test procedures and evaluate communication and swallowing functions of patients.This includes interpreting and reporting test results tofacilitatemedical diagnosis, providing counseling and education about communication and the diagnosis to patients and their families anddeterminingtherapeutic plans, including the need for therapy, frequency of treatment, focus for intervention,prognosisand duration of therapy.This is a hands-on role that will allow you to enhance your skills and can act as a steppingstone to other positions withinClevelandClinic.A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) from 8:00AM - 4:30PM, which includes one weekend day per month.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Perform diagnostic speech pathology test procedures.Evaluate communication and swallowingfunctionof terpret and report test results tofacilitatemedical diagnosis.Provide counseling and education about communication and the diagnosis to patients and families.Determinetherapeutic plans, including the need for therapy, frequency of treatment, focus for intervention,prognosisand duration of therapy.Select assistive speech devices toimprove the patient’scommunication.Perform re-evaluation todetermineprogress after therapy.Provide observations about hearing and other behaviors to helpdeterminethe need for other services.Maintain records of all municate results and recommendations for improving communicative function to referral sources and outside agencies such as schools and employees.Assistwith planning, budget, service or project development, fee setting and purchase of new equipment or materials.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Master’s Degree in Speech/Language PathologyHold or be eligible for a Speech-Language Pathology License (SP) from the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiologyin the state of OhioCertification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)Completion of a nine-month Clinical Fellowship YearPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Acute care experiencePhysical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods of time.Manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient to perform tests.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay RangeMinimum hourly: $48.00Maximum hourly: $48.00The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
