Looking to grow our services in the Pacific Northwest and expand our presence with localities and WSDOT in the region, RK&K seeks to hire a Project Manager in Seattle to support our Transportation team.As a senior member of our team, you will focus on leading a variety of dynamic pursuits and projects as it relates to transportation, with a key focus on supporting our regional growth.. As a Transportation Project Manager with RK&K you will support public agencies on traffic design and analysis engineering programs throughout our current and future portfolio.Essential FunctionsPerform a variety of tasks, including traffic engineering design plans, preliminary engineering design, transportation planning studies, and traffic operations analysisSupport projects for all modes of travel including highway, bus, rail, bicycle and pedestrian in urban, suburban and rural environmentsPrepare documentation and design plans for traffic control devices, including traffic signals, signing and pavement markings, temporary traffic control, lighting, and Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS)Complete studies and develop high quality traffic reports with limited direction and be able to clearly, professionally present that information to our clients on site and virtuallyUtilize traffic analysis/simulation tools to perform traffic modeling and simulationsPrepare technical reports and presentationsFacilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and approval of plansDirect project staff and sub-consultantsServe as liaison between client and firmExecute QA/QC for completeness and accuracy of design workProvide engineering judgment and initiative within the Traffic Engineering fieldRequired Skills and ExperienceTen (10) + years of progressive experience in traffic engineeringExperience working with WSDOT and local municipalitiesExceptional writing, verbal communication and presentation skills including public speakingExperience with Highway Safety Manual, Highway Capacity Manual and AASHTO guidelinesTraffic control device design (signals, signing and marking, temporary traffic control, ITS) experience using MUTCD .Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic and VISSIM (or simulation analysis software)Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or relatedLicensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain within six months.Preferred Skills and ExperienceMasters Degree in Civil EngineeringProfessional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE)Experience supervising other traffic engineersOther DutiesThis job description indicates the general nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (as covered under ADA).
