R&D Chemistry Lab Technician Job Description The R&D Technician will play a crucial role in supporting Powder coating technologies within the Heavy Equipment market segment. The technician will be responsible for conducting routine experiments, recording results, and gaining basic knowledge of raw materials, utilizing lab equipment to prepare powder samples, conducting fundamental tests, and meticulously capturing and documenting data. Responsibilities + Maintain an Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) to document all formulations, processes, and testing data. + Use Microsoft Word/Excel and other software programs to record and report data. + Prepare samples and conduct tests according to established standards. + Understand and follow all Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Internal Test Methods (ITMs) after receiving training and approval to use equipment. + Collaborate with the manager and chemists to understand project needs and priorities. + Communicate project timelines and results effectively, assisting team members in meeting project deadlines. + Comply with all safety regulations and follow safety rules specific to the powder lab. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma (HSD) or GED required. + Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred. + 1 year of experience in a chemical lab preferred. Work Environment The work environment is an industrial lab setting, not a clean room or biological lab environment. The role offers flexible 1st shift hours, Monday through Friday, typically an 8-hour shift from 7-8 AM to 4-5 PM, with core hours from 8 AM to 4 PM. The dress code is business casual, and a lab coat is required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
