FTE: 0.001000 Standard Hours: 0.01 Shift: 4 Shift Details:optional part time Job Summary: Following established policies andprocedures, Pharmacy Intern 2 performs technical, distributive, andadministrative duties. This individual may receive, sort, compound,process and prepare medication orders under the supervision of apharmacist. They may prepare sterile products and will assist in thetraining of Pharmacy Intern 1. As the intern progresses, anddemonstrates an increase in ability, the preceptor will grant increasedresponsibility. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: HighSchool diploma or equivalent is required. Accepted to a doctor ofpharmacy program at a degree granting institution or enrolled in theirfirst year of a doctor of pharmacy program at a degree grantinginstitution. TRAINING DESCRIPTION: Must complete a competency checklistwithin three months of completing orientation and training sessions.SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Ability to communicate effectively withother health care professionals and patients. Ability to prioritizeresponsibilities in order to optimize patient care and minimize adverseoutcomes. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: Application for Wisconsin registrationas a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtainedwithin 12 months of hire. Staff hired into this role prior to 3/31/23must have applied for Wisconsin registration by 3/31/23 and have until3/31/24 to obtain registration.
