Warehouse Worker/Driver 1 (40 hrs./wk., 260 days)Nutrition ServicesTO APPLY:Direct Link: Page: note, employers may close jobs on the website at any time.SUMMARY DESCRIPTIONUnder supervision, receives, stores, and distributes supplies and equipment to schools and other locations throughout the District. Incumbent performs related work as required. (Nutrition Services)EXEMPLARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES- Inspects trucks and equipment on a regular basis; identifies needed repairs and notifies supervisor; maintains vehicles, equipment, warehouse and other assigned areas in a clean and safe condition. Assists in taking periodic inventory. Additionally:- Receives and stores perishable foods; checks shipments for accuracy against purchase orders and invoices; notifies supervisor of discrepancies; conveys shipments to storage area by hand, hand trucks, forklifts, or pallet jacks; makes appropriate entries on delivery forms, stock records and other related documents.- Receives and fills food requests from stock; manually loads items for delivery; verifies load against supply request; operates a refrigerated truck to deliver prepared and refrigerated food items and products; ensures food is handled in the proper manner during the loading, transit, unloading, and storage processes; examines and removes spoiled or damaged food items.EMPLOYMENT STANDARDSEducation/Experience: Any combination equivalent to education and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and experience would be:1. Equivalent to a high school diploma,AND2. One (1) year of responsible experience driving a delivery route; When Assigned to Nutrition Services: experience with refrigerated truck systems is also preferred,AND3. One (1) year of general warehousing, stock, or inventory control experience; experience with driving forklifts is preferred.Knowledge of: Reading, writing, and basic math; state and local traffic laws and regulations, including defensive driving and emergency procedures; safe handling principles and practices, as would apply to assigned duties.Skill at: Operating vehicles up to five (5) tons, with manual transmission and 2-speed axles in heavy traffic situations; using appropriate judgment in meeting unforeseen or bad weather conditions; ability to follow written and oral instructions; move / lift and carrying heavy or large objects, such as 100 pounds over head; performing strenuous physical work; work under adverse climate conditions. Establish and maintain working relationships with those contacted in the course of performing assigned duties. Maintain inventory records; operate light auxiliary equipment, such as forklift and pallet jack; accurately pick orders for processing.Licenses/Certificates: Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Nevada State Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with a driving record acceptable to the District.THIS JOB SPECIFICATION SHOULD NOT BE CONSTRUED TO IMPLY THAT THESE REQUIREMENTS ARE THE EXCLUSIVE STANDARDS OF THE POSITION.
