Highland Creek Family Dental is looking for a Dental Business Assistant to join our team in the Lafayette, IN, area! A Dental Business Assistant is responsible for providing exceptional patient service as the first point of contact in a dental practice, including greeting patients, scheduling appointments, managing patient records, handling insurance claims, collecting payments, and maintaining a clean and organized front office environment, all while ensuring smooth patient flow and administrative operations within the dental practice.Compensation: $18+ per hour, based on experienceScheduleFull-timeTuesday through FridayBenefits and PerksQuarterly bonus opportunitiesMedical, dental, vision, and life insuranceGenerous PTO and paid holidaysTraditional and Roth 401(k) optionsReferral Bonus ProgramScrub allowanceAmazing team and work environmentKey ResponsibilitiesPatient Reception: Greet patients warmly upon arrival, check them in, and verify necessary informationAppointment Scheduling: Efficiently schedule and confirm patient appointments and manage cancellations and rescheduling requestsPatient Registration: Collect and update patient demographics, medical history, and insurance informationInsurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits and pre-authorize procedures when neededFinancial Transactions: Collect patient copayments, process payments, and manage billing proceduresClaims Submission: Accurately submit insurance claims electronically and follow up on outstanding claimsPhone Management: Answer incoming phone calls promptly, address patient inquiries, and schedule appointments over the phoneRecord Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, file paperwork, and update patient charts as neededFront Office Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring supplies are stockedAdministrative Tasks: Perform administrative duties such as data entry, filing, and generating reportsRequired Skills and Qualifications2+ years of dental front office experience is highly preferredBilingual in Spanish preferred, but not requiredKnowledge of Open Dental softwareExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and dental team membersStrong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain a detailed scheduleProficiency in dental practice management software and electronic health records (EHR) systemsKnowledge of dental insurance billing codes and proceduresDetail-oriented with the ability to handle sensitive patient information accuratelyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamINDHRFO01
