About the Role: As a CBRE Chief Building Engineer Supervisor, you will oversee the comprehensive maintenance and operational oversight of a large portfolio of healthcare facilities. This critical role involves managing a team of Mobile Engineers, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all building systems, maintaining compliance with stringent healthcare regulations, and optimizing facility performance across approximately 70 non-acute medical site spread across the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area and throughout Pierce County. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all building systems, maintaining code compliance, managing budgets, and driving continuous improvement in facility maintenance and staff development. This position will require extensive travel throughout your portfolio in a company provided vehicle. What Youu2019ll Do: + Directly oversee the day-to-day maintenance operations of a large and diverse portfolio of healthcare facilities. + Supervise the maintenance, repair, and optimal functioning of HVAC, boiler, fire life safety, mechanical, and electrical systems across all sites. + Develop, implement, and communicate comprehensive preventive maintenance programs and safety procedure manuals. + Manage work order assignments for the mobile engineering team, ensuring timely and high-quality completion. + Coordinate and manage vendors, including obtaining quotes and identifying cost-saving opportunities. + Develop material and labor cost estimates for work orders, preventive maintenance activities, systems, and construction projects. + Oversee space planning and minor construction projects. + Maintain accurate documentation, including the creation of purchase orders. + Respond to emergency situations and provide guidance and support as needed, maintaining on-call availability. + Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of 5 direct reports consisting of Mobile Engineers. + Oversee the recruiting and hiring process for new engineering staff. + Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities, establish work schedules, assign tasks, and facilitate cross-training. + Set and track individual and departmental deadlines and key performance indicator (KPI) metrics to ensure strong accountability. + Track the training and development of staff, conduct performance evaluations, and provide coaching opportunities to foster professional growth. + Ensure that mechanics and technicians have the necessary information and materials to complete assignments efficiently and to high standards. + Manage the facilities budget, ensuring adherence to predetermined financial targets and proactively seeking cost-saving initiatives. + Ensure all facilities remain code compliant and oversee readiness for regulatory inspections, including Infection Control, Department of Health (DOH), and Joint Commission. + Schedule and oversee life safety and Joint Commission inspections. + Engage in extensive client-facing interactions, building and maintaining strong relationships with facility leadership. + Schedule and lead monthly department meetings with the engineering team and facility leadership. + Apply advanced knowledge to seek and develop new, better methods for accomplishing both individual and department objectives. + Showcase expertise in own job discipline and in-depth knowledge of other job disciplines within the organization function. + Coach others to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise in most or all areas within the function. + Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels and of divergent interest, to adopt a different point of view. + Impact the achievement of customer, operational, project, or service objectives across multi-discipline teams. What Youu2019ll Need: + High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 5 years of facilities maintenance and supervisory experience preferably 2 years specially within healthcare facilities. + Proven experience in managing building systems, including HVAC, boiler, fire life safety, mechanical, and electrical systems. + Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience with a team of engineering or maintenance professionals. + Strong understanding of budgeting principles and experience managing departmental finances. + Knowledge of regulatory compliance for healthcare facilities (e.g., Joint Commission, DOH, infection control). + Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more. + The innovative mentality to develop methods that go beyond existing solutions. + Ability to solve unique problems using standard and innovative solutions having a broad impact on the business. + In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. The minimum salary for the Chief Building Engineer Supervisor position is $110,000 annually [or $52.88 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Chief Building Engineer Supervisor position is $130,000 annually [or $62.50 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidateu2019s skills, qualifications, and experience.
