Test Technician

Job Title: Test Technician text 8 4 7 5 8 0 2 8 1 4 if interested Job Description This position is responsible for performing varied complex testing procedures for units, systems, parts, or processes needed for Start-Up and Commissioning Services. The role ensures that products conform to design specifications and includes providing technical assistance, work direction, and training to other technicians. Responsibilities + Perform complex mechanical and electrical tests to ensure that physical characteristics, mechanical operations, and electrical functions conform to design and industry standards. + Assess defects and malfunctions and make recommendations for improvement to Mechanical Engineers, Design Engineers, and management. + Work closely with Quality and Engineering to improve test methods and resolve problems of manufacturing assembly and/or process nature. + Sign all required test inspection documents for record and approval for shipment. + Set up and maintain test equipment. + Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical switchgear. Essential Skills + Knowledge of electrical symbols and schematics. + Basic computer skills. + Ability to use shop equipment and hand tools. + Perform basic math functions, including an understanding of fractions and decimals. + Ability to take direction, follow instructions, and work with others positively. + Fluency in English, with the ability to facilitate department huddles, collaborate with engineers and project managers, and assign duties to team members. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma or Technical School preferred but not required. + Skills in mechanical assembly, blueprint reading, using hand and power tools, and knowledge of wiring diagrams and electrical symbols. Work Environment The facility is medium-sized with 60 employees, handling everything from start to finish in fabrication, welding, wiring, and assembly. It is clean, modernly designed, and maintained at comfortable temperatures for work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Charles, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
