This position involves responsibilities including definition of requirements, tooling, validation testing, and launching in an assembly plant during the development of Exterior Lighting products throughout a vehicleu2019s lifecycle. This role requires an engineering supervisor to lead and drive a cross functional team that includes lighting engineers, systems engineers, lighting suppliers, studio, purchasing, manufacturing, and quality functions. Supervise a talented team of Exterior Lighting Applications Engineers to deliver exciting Exterior Lighting products and features. u2022 Lead Systems Engineering for Exterior Lighting Applications. u2022 Generate and execute technical solutions for Exterior Lighting components to support new vehicle programs. u2022 Perform complex engineering evaluation analysis. u2022 Work cross-functionally to implement cost savings, product improvements, and to support prototype and production build activities. What you'll do... Balance attributes such as cost, weight, complexity, and timing. u2022 Supervise product development, production release, validation, and launch of Exterior Lighting systems, subsystems, and components. u2022 Communicate information to and from internal and external organizations. u2022 Lead team meetings (suppliers, designers, engineers, manufacturing, supplier quality, etc.). u2022 Travel as required (including international). You'll have... + Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, and/or Optical) + 5+ years of lighting applications and/or other relative experience. + 10+ years of body exterior applications and/or other relative experience. Even better, you may have... + Masteru2019s Degree or other Advanced Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, and/or Optical). + 10+ years of lighting applications and/or other related experience. + Familiarity with Design For Six Sigma process. + Experience with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). + Knowledge of plastic materials, plastic injection molding, optics, basic electrical/electronic circuitry, lamp manufacturing processes, tooling, fixture design and product validation. + Knowledge of global lighting regulations.
