Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Brookfield, Massachusetts. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to essential financial operations. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger management, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial processes. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and file corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. u2022 Manage and process sales tax filings across multiple jurisdictions. u2022 Record, review, and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records. u2022 Oversee general ledger activities, including account reconciliations and adjustments. u2022 Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and resolve discrepancies. u2022 Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights. u2022 Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely completion. u2022 Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and accounting standards. u2022 Generate reports to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filing. u2022 Strong knowledge of sales tax processes and regulations. u2022 Proficiency in managing general ledger accounts and journal entries. u2022 Familiarity with accounting software and tools. u2022 Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. u2022 Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. u2022 Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. u2022 Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
