Medical Office - Floater

Job Title: Medical Office Floater Location: Asheville Position Type: Full Time Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm (with flexibility to work different hours) Pay: $18/hr to $20/hr DOE Overview:Our busy, fast-paced orthopedic practice is seeking a flexible, dependable, and proactive Medical Office Floater to join our team. This position plays a key support role by providing coverage across both front and back office areas as needed, ensuring seamless daily operations and consistent, high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities: Provide coverage for front desk reception: check-in/check-out, scheduling, insurance verification, and handling high call volumes Assist clinical team with rooming patients, taking vitals, prepping for exams, and entering information into the EHR Float between departments (e.g., imaging, surgery scheduling, referrals, medical records) based on daily needs Support providers and clinical staff by anticipating workflow needs and responding to requests promptly Maintain organization, cleanliness, and readiness of exam rooms and common areas Ensure patient inquiries and needs are addressed with professionalism and urgency Handle administrative tasks such as faxing, scanning, filing, and chart preparation Qualifications: 1+ years of experience in a medical office (orthopedic or specialty experience preferred) Strong multitasking skills and ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Athena, or similar) Positive, team-oriented attitude with excellent communication and customer service skills Medical Assistant certification is a plus but not required High school diploma or equivalent required Why Join Us: Team-based, supportive environment with opportunities to grow Competitive pay and benefits Variety in daily duties—no two days are the same!
