Employment Type: Full time Shift: Rotating Shift Description: Shift Details: + Monday-Friday and occasional weekends. + Five-8 Hour shifts a week (40 hours). + Dayshift and afternoon shifts available between from 6:00 am - 6:00 pm. Position Purpose: In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Service Coordinator provides administrative and clerical support to designated areas; assists in the planning, development, implementation and coordinator of equipment, supplies and environmental issues; functions within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the Organization What you will do: u00b7 Exhibits each of the Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards holding self and others accountable and role modeling excellence for all to see. For example: demonstrates friendliness and courtesy, effective communication creates a professional environment and provides first class service. u00b7 Meets population specific and all other competencies according to department requirements. u00b7 Promotes a Culture of Safety by adhering to policy, procedures and plans that are in place to prevent workplace injury, violence or adverse outcome to associates and patients. u00b7 Relationship-based Care: Creates a caring and healing environment that keeps the patient and family at the center of care throughout their experience at Mount Carmel following the principles of our interdisciplinary care delivery system. u00b7 (For patient care providers) Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Programu00ae. Office Management u00b7 Assists with administrative activities necessary for supporting the department including office organization, filing, typing, and routine departmental administration. u00b7 Maintains all department databases, files, and records. u00b7 Takes minutes in staff meetings and committees. u00b7 Prepares service-related reports and proposals. Inventory Control u00b7 Develops, implements, and maintains an inventory control system for department supplies/equipment which will include: u00b7 Maintaining an inventory control system for ordering routine stock items. u00b7 Ordering routine stock and special supply items. u00b7 Checking/stocking ordered supplies and equipment. u00b7 Maintains purchase order requisitions and capital item requisitions. Initiative u00b7 Takes responsibility to facilitate improvements in patient services, staff/physician relationships, and the working environment. Communication u00b7 Coordinates service requests, telephone requests and information to customers using appropriate forms of communication (e.g. electronic mail, voice mail, written correspondence, meetings, etc.). Department Operations u00b7 Acts as a resource person for the Unit Director/Director, Physicians and staff regarding environmental/resource aspects of department operations. u00b7 Completes environmental rounds monthly and submits reports as directed. u00b7 Monitors supply rooms for organization, appropriate par levels, and accurate stocking. u00b7 Coordinates service requests with appropriate departments (Clinical Engineering, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Telecommunications, etc.) Collaboration u00b7 Collaborates with Unit Director/Director in the management of financial resources including: u00b7 Reviewing and updating department charges and initiating new charges as appropriate. u00b7 Collaborating with Financial Services and Materials Management when appropriate. Technology u00b7 Utilizes appropriately and demonstrates continuous learning. Other Job Responsibilities u00b7 Attends required in-services, workshops, retreats, staff meetings. u00b7 Participates in and fosters a performance improvement approach that includes both intradepartmental and interdepartmental activities. u00b7 Responsible for compliance with Organizational Integrity through raising questions and promptly reporting actual or potential wrongdoing. u00b7 All other duties as assigned.
