Job Title: Senior BIM Specialist Job Description We are seeking a Senior BIM Specialist who will translate design intent contract documents or 3D design models of Piping and Mechanical systems into detailed Building Information Models (BIM) for fabrication and installation using BIM fabrication modeling software. This role includes leading a team at the project level to oversee productivity, time management, group standards, and quality. Responsibilities + Lead and support a group of skilled VDC Specialists at a project level to ensure project deadlines are met. + Support the project team within the VDC Group at a project level. + Manage construction documents. + Communicate effectively with the internal project team. + Ensure the BIM team has current project-related information, including submittals, specifications, and vendor-specific models. + Collaborate with engineers and managers to produce LOD400 BIM for mechanical and plumbing systems. + Work with the General Contractor and other subcontractors to achieve spatial coordination of all trades. + Attend weekly coordination meetings, either onsite or virtually, to achieve spatial coordination of all trades. + Generate RFIs to be submitted to the design team when required. + Create detailed shop drawings for the purposes of fabrication and installation of associated trades. + Create and annotate shop, hanger, and sleeve drawings. + Export hanger and sleeve coordinates for the robotic total station layout team for field layout. + Communicate with field personnel to ensure that fabrication and installation intent is clearly communicated on shop and spool drawings. + Mentor and train VDC team members on the use of modeling and collaboration software, as well as the creation of fabrication and installation drawings and documents. + Work with other team members to complete drawings and models to meet project schedules. + Maintain training and continued education for the team to improve accuracy and productivity. + Provide input to management regarding hardware and software requirements. Essential Skills + 5 or more years of experience with installation of mechanical or plumbing systems. + Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication CADMEP, and Autodesk Navisworks. + Strong leadership skills to lead a project team within the group to meet project requirements. + Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret project schedules and technical literature. Work Environment The position is 100% remote, with a preference for candidates located in the East Coast or Midwest time zones.
