The Reinsurance Center of Excellence Runoff Accounting team is responsible for the administration of reinsurance ceded under Runoff Reinsurance programs. These reinsurance programs can often be complex. The ideal candidate would have familiarity with reinsurance and/or accounting principles. Key responsibilities of this position include: u2022 Contract interpretation and identification of key criteria for accurate reinsurance detection. u2022 Monitors and processes ceded losses and billings in an accurate and timely manner, within a monthly accounting/production cycle, ensuring compliance with all accounting related requirements. u2022 Reinsurance Loss Recoverable management, cash application, and reconciliations. u2022 Performs basic to moderately difficult calculations, accountings, reconciliations, and reporting. Identifies and investigates out-of- balance transactions. Actively manages the resolution of basic correspondence and assigned reinsurance balances. u2022 Leverages proficiency in technical/functional skills to execute all basic reporting, collection, correspondence, and financial transactions appropriately with consistent adherence to reinsurance practices and protocols. u2022 Develops and maintains productive working relationships with both internal and external partners including Brokers, Reinsurers, Legal, Actuarial, Direct Claims, Operations, vendors and/or IT, in order to achieve the most favorable outcomes. u2022 Participates in projects as part of a team. u2022 Positive attitude and the ability to work as a team player u2022 Participates in process improvement initiatives as part of a team. Maintains workflow and reference documentation u2022 Effectively communicates with peers and management, both verbally and in writing. Qualifications: u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree preferred, or equivalent experience. u2022 2 yearsu2019 related work experience in accounting, audit, insurance or reinsurance preferred. u2022 Accounting, audit, or mathematical expertise. u2022 Problem Solving and Execution Skills. u2022 Proficient in Microsoft Suite, with emphasis on Excel. u2022 Solid understanding of basic reinsurance contracts and coverage, including related financial transactions, reporting, collections, and other reinsurance matters preferred. u2022 Strong Analytical Skills and Proficiency in Data and Data Analytics. u2022 Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills. u2022 Continuous Improvement Mindset. u2022 Cross Functional Collaboration Skills and Building Relationships. u2022 Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently while maintaining efficiency and prioritizing effectively. u2022 Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively on complex tasks. Additional Information: Must be able to support and work Eastern core business hours to meet business needs. This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise. Compensation The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartfordu2019s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
