The jobholder is responsible forPeople Strategy development and implementation for one or more groups ofsalt producing facilities, including providing primary oversight andleadership to site based Human Resources managers and support personnel.Duties and Responsibilities- HR leader for the Highway & Chemical business unit which is comprised of the companys mines located throughout Canada and the United States. - Position currently has 9 direct reports in US and Canada - Lead and support all HR needs for the business unit, including the units sales, marketing, procurement, transportation, and supply chain teams.- Partner with CHRO and the President of Highway & Chemical to implementation strategic HR initiatives related to people development, talent management, staffing, retention, diversity, organizational development and performance management for union and non-union (Staff) employees at multiple locations in North America as well as personally perform the same for the units sales, marketing, procurement, transportation and supply chain teams.- Guide the HR team members to ensure the HR function's priorities and efforts are customer centric and aligned to the execution of the operational strategy.- Execute and oversee talent acquisition strategy, objectives and KPIs for area of responsibility. Ensure development of a robust and sustainable talent pipeline for production, trades, technical and supervisory positions- Provide subject matter expertise and counsel Site HR Managers, Operations Directors and other business leaders on change management.- Provide coaching and consultation to site HR and operations management regarding communication and leadership style and its impact on departmental change efforts.- Provide expertise, counsel and coaching support to department leaders and direct reports on HR annual processes and systems with goal of building management competencies within the local leadership team.- Oversee Site HR Manager activities related to managing union relationships to include contract negotiations, monthly meetings, grievance investigation and response, arbitration and other labor relations functions.- Coach, counsel, guide and mentor a group of HR site leaders on best practices related to attracting, engaging and investing in employees through the employee lifecycle.- Ensure compliance with Environmental, Safety, Health and other federal, state, local and Company policies, procedures, and requirements.
